The close connection between Christian witness and serving the neighbour is basic to the work of EMS. One way in which this conviction is put into practice is the Ecumenical Youth Volunteers Programme (EYVP).

Ecumenical learning takes place in relations and in solidarity-based action. Churches and organisations of the EMS Fellowship admit young volunteers. They work in schools, homes and kindergartens. Through the EYVP they get to know churches and cultures in other countries, contribute their experiences to congregational work and further develop their personality.
