The EMS maintains relations with the National Evangelical Church of Beirut (NECB) and the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East. It is our special interest to strengthen the Christian presence in the Middle East together with these churches in ecumenical co-operation with the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC). This is achieved by supporting church projects as well as sponsoring the Schneller schools in Lebanon and Jordan.
In a region where respect for other religions is a prerequisite for the survival of one's own church, the churches support people to be active Christians in their parishes and numerous institutions. The projects are therefore an active contribution to peace and stability. In addition they perform vital services to society through education work and aid to refugees.
