EMS gets involved in “Sharing is Living“
“Sharing is at the heart of mission.” This attitude is a key reason for the existence of EMS according to Bernhard Dinkelaker, general secretary of this ecumenical association of churches and missions. EMS has opted to focus on the triple sharing of life questions, intercultural Christian witness and financial resources. In worldwide solidarity and partnership the 28 member churches and missions in the EMS Fellowship seek to tackle poverty worldwide and work for global justice. “At the conference (early September in Schwäbisch Gmünd) we want to contribute four decades of ecumenical experience on three continents. We want to use examples from EMS churches to encourage people to share, which we understand as a concrete expression of our missionary commitment,” Dinkelaker said.
