EMS Synod elects new leadership and debates revised statutes
The Synod of the Association of Churches and Missions in South Western Germany (EMS), which met on 12/13 November 2010 in Bad Boll, has elected a new leadership. The Synod also discussed alterations to the association’s statutes intended to further the internationalization of EMS, which was founded in 1972. The motto of the Synod "... Love to tell, Bread to share" was illustrated by reports from four international meetings in 2010: Edinburgh (Centenary of the first World Mission Conference), Stuttgart (Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation), Grand Rapids (Uniting General Council of the World Communion of Reformed Churches) and Cape Town (Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization). The budget plan for 2011 with a total volume of 6.37 million Euros was passed nanimously.
