Project of the month

India: Children's homes in South India

Children, and particularly girls, often lead difficult lives in India. The facilities offered by the Church of South India allow many to escape child labor and oppression.

South Africa: Masangane AIDS Programme

AIDS destroys the livelihood of many South Africans and their families since those infected can find no jobs and children are left as orphans. The "Masangane" project brings back hope to AIDS sufferers and to the children affected.

Indonesia: Boarding Homes in Makassar

Since Indonesian village schools are poorly equipped, many parents send their children to secondary schools in the city. There the children find lodging and supportive care in Christian boarding homes.

Indonesia: Work with Handicapped Children

They are a "punishment from God". Children with handicaps in Indonesia still suffer from this reputation. A women's initiative of the Taraja Church breaks through the isolation of these children and stands up for their rights.

Indonesia: Children's Home "Entrusted Love"

Many Indonesian children and adolescents have been exposed to violence and hunger or have lost their parents or homes at an early age. They find a new home at the "Entrusted Love" children's home.
