Reading the Bible through the Eyes of Another

Can you get people from 20 different countries to talk to each other? By encouraging them to pick up the Bible and start reading from it? Can that possibly work? Yes. In 15 years, 250 groups have formed around the world, pairing up in “tandems” to reflect upon the same Bible texts from their different points of view.

The book, “Reading the Bible through the Eyes of Another”, now published by the Evangelical Mission in Solidarity (EMS), shows that this project has opened up a treasure trove of experiences. Dr. Gabriele Mayer and Dr. Bernhard Dinkelaker have presented the diverse experiences of the grass-root groups, and their scientific insights, in a lively, thorough and pragmatic manner – with practical instructions on how to recreate these methods!
