We warmly invite you to the next EMS Sharing of Life Concerns on Monday, 3 November 2025, at 1:00 p.m. (CET).

All over the world, more and more young Christians are recognizing the call to respond to the growing environmental crisis — as an expression of their faith, their commitment to justice, and their shared responsibility. For this reason, members of the International EMS Youth Network have organized this event.

We are looking forward to two speakers who will highlight different aspects of how the environmental crisis affects people’s lives:

Beth Resistia, a prospective Master’s student in Health Law from Indonesia, will discuss how the loss of traditional agroforestry harms both the environment and the well-being of indigenous communities. In Marawola Barat (Indonesia), women are particularly affected as they face growing challenges in providing for their families and protecting their land. She will show how environmental degradation, the loss of traditional agroforestry, and gender inequality are interconnected — and why protecting land also means protecting women.

Akankshya Nayak, Project Associate of the Church of North India (CNI), will explore the close connection between ecology and agriculture — both essential to human survival and community well-being. She will address how climate change, environmental degradation, and social inequalities disrupt this balance — and how faith communities, especially young people and women, can respond with care and responsibility.

Together, we want to reflect on how spirituality, faith, and solidarity can guide us in preserving creation, respecting the dignity and safety of all people, and strengthening our shared response to the ecological crisis.
