Latest Issue of the EMS Insights on the Theme of Children

Let the little children come to me. Before God, they are the greatest.

The latest issue of EMS Insights is now available. Its main feature focuses on the theme of “Let the little children come to me. Before God, they are the greatest” and can now be ordered free of charge.

Children are a gift from God. But they come with a great responsibility. The international EMS Fellowship strives to help children in many different ways. The latest issue of EMS Insights offers  numerous examples taken from the work of its member churches and mission societies.

Pastor Gustina Saruran of Indonesia is convinced that children should feel accepted in church and be able to contribute their own views. As a staff member on the international EMS children’s programme team, she is committed to bringing children’s services more closely in line with the needs of girls and boys. She presents the concept of a "child-friendly church” for EMS Insights.

The values we teach our children today will shape their future, argues Pastor Armin Sukri Kanna. Read more about this in his theological reflection on the Bible passage “Let the little children come to me” (Matthew 19:13-15).

“We want to be a church that is open to all children in our society,” says Markus Grapke. He has been a pastor for children’s services at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Württemberg since 2022. In his interview, he talks about the church’s opportunities and challenges with children today.

For the first time, EMS Insights features a raffle in which attractive prizes can be won. In addition, the latest issue of the 20-page magazine contains lots of news from the EMS networks, associations, programmes and projects.

“EMS Insights” can be downloaded free of charge in e-book format from the EMS website. You will also find the German edition “EMS Einblick” there. Printed copies of “EMS Einblick” can be requested from Stefan Schaal on +49 711 636 78 60 or by e-mail to info@dont-want-spam.ems-online.org.
