“50 years of EMS!” – This is the main feature in the new issue of “EMS Insights”. You can now request the free 20-page magazine from the Evangelical Mission in Solidarity (EMS) or download it as an e-book. Produced by a team of editors from Africa, Asia and Europe, the magazine opens international perspectives on our EMS member churches and mission societies.

The EMS celebrated its 50th anniversary in September with a thanksgiving service and a gala evening. Originally founded as a German-only mission organisation, it has developed into a worldwide family of churches and mission societies in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe. This is a largely unique cooperation of churches and mission societies spanning three continents is based on equal rights. The current issue of “EMS Insights” looks back at fifty years of mission history and looks ahead to the challenges of the future. 

Church jubilees around the world 

It was not only the EMS itself that was able to celebrate a milestone birthday this year. Four member churches in Germany, India and Indonesia also celebrated important jubilees in grand style. Among other things, we report on the Moravian Church which commemorates the founding of the congregation of Herrnhut (Saxony) 300 years ago with a full agenda of events. Readers can also share in what people within the EMS Fellowship are concerned about in news from the networks, programmes and associations.
