Why We Need the Other Religions

Jews, Christians and Muslims share their experiences in interreligious dialogue

‘No peace among nations without peace between religions.’ How often has this sentence by the Catholic theologian and founder of the Weltethos Foundation, Hans Küng, been quoted? Nobody would disagree with him. But how does peace between religions work?

Against the backdrop of the seemingly endless conflicts in the Middle East, we asked this question to Jewish, Muslim and Christian men and women who are involved in interfaith dialogue. We received impressive contributions that clearly show how much interfaith dialogue depends on people who want to engage in it, who allow to be challenged themselves and who, despite disappointments, hold on to the idea that all people are equal before God.
