A declaration of love to our brothers and sisters
The new Schneller Magazine shows how formative encounters with Christians in the Middle East can be
“Love letters to Christians in the Middle East” fill the current issue of Schneller Magazine. Various authors describe how much their encounter with Christianity in the Middle East has shaped them, how meeting their brothers and sisters in faith has opened up new horizons for them, whether in theology, in their encounter with Islam, or on a very personal level.
With this issue, editor-in-chief Katja Dorothea Buck is bidding farewell to Schneller Magazine after 23 years. She has been responsible for the conception and design of 81 issues of this venerable publication. She has written about how grateful she is for all her experiences and encounters during this time in a lengthy farewell article. This text is also a declaration of love to the people of the Middle East.
Because Katja Dorothea Buck's departure means that a few things need to be reorganized within the Schneller editorial team, and this takes time, this issue has become a double issue and has a second, shorter focus. In response to the question “Quo Vadis Lebanon?”, various authors from Lebanon give their answers on where they see their country after so many years of political and economic crisis and in the new power relations in the region.
