Save lives. Leave no one behind.
Support the fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa now.
Our planet is in turmoil and political crises, economic instability and growing insecurity are shaping global events. Not only that. The international community is increasingly withdrawing from development aid with devastating consequences for the poorest in the world.
Many government are drastically cutting aid budgets. What is particularly alarming is the threatened closure of USAID, the US development agency. This will jeopardise medical care for millions of people in Africa. For HIV-positive people and those suffering from AIDS, it means the possible loss of access to vital medication and will pose an existential threat to their livelihoods.
EMS – a reliable partner on the ground
For many years, the Evangelical Mission in Solidarity (EMS) has been working together with its African partner churches to promote fair and accessible healthcare. The guiding principle upheld by the EMS is based on long-term cooperation as equals, firm roots in local communities and the ability to deliver concrete results. Your donation boosts this commitment and helps to save lives.
Solidarity with the forgotten
At times of growing need, the EMS’s guiding principle takes on a new urgency. “Save lives and leave no one behind.” The EMS stands firmly alongside those who would otherwise receive no help at all. Together with long-standing partner churches, it fights for humane medical care – especially for those who are poor, sick, marginalised or ostracised.
Saving lives begins with a decision: the decision not to look away, to take responsibility and to say: I will not leave anyone behind. People in Ghana, South Africa and many other countries rely on this promise – and on us working together to help people where help is otherwise denied.
Help that gets there. Two examples
In Ghana, the EMS supports the healthcare work of the Presbyterian Church in Ghana (PCG). The Poor and Sick Fund pays for the treatment costs of the needy, especially in rural regions where state healthcare services are virtually inaccessible.
In South Africa, the Masangane AIDS programme is carrying out life-saving work. It provides education, psychosocial care and access to medication for people afflicted by HIV.
Your donation helps to save lives
This is the time when your support is urgently needed. Together we can save lives and ensure that people with HIV/AIDS and their families are not left in the lurch to fend for themselves. Help us to make medical care accessible to all, including those who have no income of their own.
Your donation makes a difference: effectively, directly, sustainably.
