Education Changes Lives, and It All Starts With Your Support

Shaping the Future Together – for Young People in Indonesia

In many parts of the world, a person’s background can still determine their future. Those who are poor often have limited access to quality education and, consequently, a self-determined life. The Evangelical Mission in Solidarity (EMS) is committed to ensuring that children and young people can learn, grow and shape their own futures, regardless of their income, gender or origin.

One such person is Kristina from Indonesia.

Kristina is 18 years old and comes from a small village in Southeast Sulawesi. After her father passed away, her mother had to provide for the family alone, working day after day in the rice fields just to make ends meet.

Attending secondary school seemed out of reach for Kristina for a long time. However, thanks to the boarding school run by the Protestant Church in Southeast Sulawesi (GEPSULTRA) in Kendari, she has been given a new chance.

Here, she has found accommodation, support and educational opportunities. She can learn, grow and dream of one day giving something back to other young people.

A Place Where Education Thrives

In many parts of Indonesia, access to education remains a daily struggle. Schools are often far away, teachers are scarce, and many families simply cannot afford to send their children to school. Secondary schools are usually found only in urban areas – far out of reach for children and young people from rural communities.

The boarding school run by the Protestant Church in Southeast Sulawesi (GEPSULTRA) in Kendari is changing this reality.

It offers young people from remote villages:

- Accommodation, meals, and personal support
- Access to education – free from financial barriers
- Space to grow in knowledge and faith – within a caring community

Here, change begins – sustainable, local, and heartfelt.

Your Donation Changes Lives

By supporting the EMS Future Fund, you strengthen educational projects like the boarding school in Kendari – and many more initiatives of our partner churches in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Together, we create spaces where young people can learn, believe, dream, and shape their own future.

Shaping the Future – Together

As churches and Christians, we seek to make the world a fairer and more compassionate place. With your support, young people can learn, grow, and discover new opportunities. This is how hope takes root – shared and sustained, step by step, day by day.

Every donation is a sign that we do not look away – we act.
