German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the EVS
The longer the war in the Middle East lasts, the more difficult it will be for everyone!

The German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited the stand of the Evangelical Association for the Schneller Schools at the German Protestant Church Convention in Hanover on Thursday.
The Federal President was informed about the work of the Schneller Schools in Lebanon and Jordan as well as the peace work of EMS member churches in the region. The National Evangelical Church in Beirut and the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East are today the patrons of the Schneller Schools in Lebanon and Jordan. The Episcopal Church in Jerusalem also runs the Ahli Arab Hospital in the Gaza Strip, which until Easter was one of the last functioning medical centres in the Gaza Strip.
The German President, who will be travelling to Israel next week at the invitation of Israeli President Yitzchak Herzog, paid tribute to the commitment of Christians in the region to peace and reconciliation. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who has special ties to the region for many decades, will continue to work for peace in the Middle East as quickly as possible and for the protection of the people.
